How to take a screenshot on your Mac

To take a screenshot, press and hold these three keys together: Shift, Command, and 3. capture the whole screen, press Command-Shift-3. The screenshot will be automatically saved as a PNG file on your desktop with the filename starting with “Picture” served by a number, for example, Picture 1, Picture 2.

   Click the window or menu to capture it. To accept the window's shadow from the screenshot, press and uphold the Option key while you click.
   If you see a thumbnail in the corner of your screen, click it to edit the screenshot. Or wait for the screenshot to save to your desktop.
